Our 5 Priorities for Bargaining

1. DIGNITY & RESPECT

Healthcare workers are standing up to say that they deserve better and want to be treated with the respect they deserve, the respect we all deserve in our workplace. be able to do their job with the respect they deserve, the respect we all deserve in the workplace. Over the last several years, our members became increasingly concerned about violations of our collective bargaining agreement, an agreement that both sides had agreed to. We want Kaleida Health, not only to respect our union, but to respect our contract and to abide by it.

2. SAFE STAFFING

Our staffing crisis is critical. Workers are caring for more patients than before and we are exhausted both mentally and physically.   We cannot ignore our staffing levels and we will not complete negotiations with Kaleida Health until we can be assured, through solid staffing language,  that unsafe staffing conditions will be addressed including workplace violence from patients and visitors.

3. JOB SECURITY

To ensure our union jobs are not contracted out to agency workers or travel nurses.

4. FAIR WAGES

We must ensure that dedicated healthcare heroes are fairly compensated for the healthcare services we provide to our community. Kaleida Health must offer competitive and fair wages that help to recruit and retain workers. Kaleida must continue to create incentives in order to fill the 1,000 open positions across its hospital system.

5. NO CONCESSIONS

Union members have fought hard to secure some of the best wages and benefits in Western New York.  We are not willing to give back any of these hard earned benefits we currently have secured such as health insurance, paid time off, vacation, sick time and holidays. No givebacks!
